Oh Matterhoooorn.
My husband and I were lucky enough to be in Flagstaff to check out Northern Arizona (amazingly enough, not a Grand Canyon centered visit) and were lucky enough to find this place.
My husband had the Weiner Schnitzel and I had a combination platter, which had some amazing Rind Rouladen. I wish I remembered the name of the others, but all were flavorful and delicious.
The beer was also very excellent and I of course loved the Black Forest Cake!
I thought the portions and prices were very good, with very attentive, knowledgeable, warm and friendly service!
I wish I lived closer

Great food and prices! I lived in Germany and Austria and can vouch for the authenticity of the food. The schnitzel is delicious and the German potato salad is wonderful. If you enjoy good German food, you will love this place. Note – as of late July 2009, no longer open for lunch…
Highly recommended!

My Husband and I are BIG FANS!!
We ate here earlier this month and had a wonderful meal while listening to the talented, fun and lively German band.
I had the Rinds Rouladen ( Thinly Sliced Beef wrapped around Bacon, Pickle and Onion. Topped with sauce made from its own juice. ) DELICIOUS…. My Husband had the Schweinebraten ( Pork Loin Roasted with Garlic, au jus ) which he thoroughly enjoyed! My Husband has spent much time in Germany and said the food was completely authentic! We went on to have a delicious dessert and very nice specialty coffees.
Also a must try is a German Beer!
The staff were wonderful and the owner Klaus came over to our table for a little chat and to check that our meals were to our liking!
Excellent service and food…..5 stars.

I love this restaurant, the food is very good German “comfort food”. I’ve never left here less than satisfied, the portions are generous and meticulously prepared. We often come with friends, and it’s a great place to catch up, eat & drink well, and feel like you’ve spent the evening well. Lot’s of opportunities to hear some great German music (like this coming Friday & Saturday night!) They’re also doing some upcoming 4 course meal & wine tasting nights – one of these will be Nov. 5th.

Great German atmosphere, great German food, great German owner, great German beer. So why 4 stars rather than 5? Mostly because sometimes you’re just in the mood for a big, breaded, fried Jagerschnitzel with fries and not the nice, pricey, date-night cousine you find here.
I absolutely love this place and Klaus is wonderful. I give a wholehearted recommendation to anyone wanting a semi-upscale dining experience and would also recommend for an extra-special evening planning in advance and asking about a special, off-menu night. I was privvy to that treat once and would love to repeat it- a huge, family-style spread of delicious foods I’d never had before.
Come in to hear the polka bands, for the special Oktoberfest menu and celebrations, or to get a complimentary glass of mulled wine over Christmas. But, sometimes unfortunately, don’t come in expecting everyday German bar-food.

What a Find!! This is one great hidden gem. The food is truly excellent, from the schnitzel to the rotkohl to the home-made spaetzle.
I have lived in Germany for several years, and I can honestly say this food is not only authentic but very well executed. For the quality, the prices are very low. I highly recommend this Restaurant!!

German restaurants are a rarity these days, so having this place in town is really nice. The food is outstanding, easily as good as what you’ll actually get in Germany. Owners and staff all seem like very friendly people. So far, I’ve tried the weiner schnitzel, wursts, and several side items. All have been good, as is the beer and wine selection. Typically less crowded than a lot of other downtown joints.
